HOW YOU CAN BE ASSURED OF ETERNAL SALVATION
You can’t be saved and washed clean of your sins until you agree that you’re a sinner. This may be difficult for you to accept, but we all were born with the same sinful nature.
· As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one. - Romans 3:10
· For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God - Romans 3:23
Adam brought sin into the world. You, I, and everyone else have been born with a sin nature because of his disobedience. That sin will keep you from a home in heaven.
· Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned - Romans 5:12
We may be sinful men and women, but God our Father sent His Son Jesus Christ to be an offering or sacrifice for those sins to keep you from eternal damnation and a place in hell Jesus is His gift to us:
· But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8
· For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. - Romans 6:23
There is nothing that you can do to save yourself. No matter how good we try to be, there is nothing in us good enough that qualifies us to be saved and enter heaven. It doesn’t matter what church you belong to. It doesn’t matter how much you have done for others:
· For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. - Ephesians 2:8,9
Learn from what Jesus told Nicodemus, the learned Pharisee who came to Him by night:
· Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. – John 3:3
Jesus continued with what may likely be the most remembered verse of the Bible:
· For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. – John 3:16
He continued, telling him (and us) these words:
· For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
· He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
John 3:17,18
If you will believe in faith that Jesus died for your sins personally; He will give you eternal life.
· These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. – 1 John 5:13
Remember that you must repent of your sins. To repent is to simply have a change of mind toward sinful things, to turn from them. Neither you nor I will ever live sinlessly, but we should strive to sin less!
· I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. – Luke 13:3 & 5
· Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. – Mark 1:14 & 15
· Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; - Acts 3:19
You have read it here correctly my friend. It’s up to you to decide if you will believe Jesus, or if you will reject Him. Believe in Him and you will have a home in heaven when your life ends on this earth. If you won’t believe in Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, the Bible says that you are condemned; doomed to Hell. God sent Jesus because He doesn’t want you to go there.
Will you believe in Him today? Your decision will determine your eternal future.
